This has been a great year for the Town of Mize Volunteer Fire Dept. Late 2010 and early 2011 saw a lot of new equipment and improvements. We want to thank our community for its continued support and encouragement.
Take a look at the new pictures and you will see we have been able to add some new equipment and everything is operational, so we are able to serve our fire district. We added a mini tanker that has the capacity of 2500 gallons of water. We have a new (to us) tanker and tractor with a 5000 gallon capacity. We now have the ability to get enough water to the scene of any fire and to shuttle more as needed.
We also added a flat bed pickup truck to our fleet. We have a large generator and flood lights mounted on it, so we can have power and lights at any scene. We also have power saws and other tools on it. We are trying to be prepared for any emergency that our community may face. We have added other smaller equipment and tools that we needed. Our building is complete, office, meeting room, bathrooms; everything is complete and fully operational. After 2 years we can now say that we are almost recovered. There are still some things that we need but we are working to add those in the near future.
